Simulation-based placements
NES Optometry are running simulation-based Independent Prescribing Clinic Placements at Clinic M, Stobhill Hospital, Glasgow.
These placements comprise a series of innovative simulation scenarios developed around the groundbreaking EyeSi virtual reality slit lamp which is a highly realistic diagnostic training system for medical professionals. This integrates cutting edge virtual reality technology into the original hardware of a Haag Streit slit lamp, allowing you to examine virtual patients in real-time with the biomicroscope, fundoscopy lens and/or gonioscopy lens.

Teach and treat clinics
NES has established regional teach and treat clinics to give community optometrists the opportunity to manage and treat patients under the close personal supervision of an ophthalmologist, while at the same time providing first class patient care for patients presenting with acute eye problems.
The training is designed to increase the optometrist's exposure to acute conditions and work through the differential diagnosis to a management plan agreed with the Ophthalmologist.
