Quality Framework for Practice Learning
NES is committed to ensuring high-quality learning experiences across practice environments. Our new The Quality Framework for Practice Based Learning sets out clear expectations for learning delivery, helping create consistency and transparency.
Purpose
It has been developed to ensure clear standards in practice and workplace environments across health and social care, so that we:
- meet regulatory requirements
- support our learners, supervisors and partners
- have a consistent approach across NES
- can reduce unnecessary duplication of work for NES and practice providers, for example across multi-professional environments
Key points
- most providers already meet these standards - this framework makes them clear for everyone
- there will be no immediate changes to current processes, as we embed the standards into our ways of working
- we are currently developing a digital system and planning a longer-term solution to support the delivery of the Framework involving further engagement and communication with partners
Most of you already meet these standards and many will have internal quality assurance processes; this framework simply makes the NES standards clear for everyone.
The Framework was developed by NES staff, adapted for use in Scotland from Health Education England (HEE)'s Quality Framework from 2021.
