Shaping the future of health and care: Public Services Delivery Scotland
From 1 April 2026, a new national body will bring together the existing strengths of NHS Education for Scotland (NES) and NHS National Services Scotland (NSS).
Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSD Scotland) will become the public sector’s national enabler of transformation, driving digital innovation, workforce development and Once for Scotland services to deliver efficient, equitable and future-ready health and social care.
Last year, the Scottish Government set out the Health and Social Care Service Renewal Framework, its plan to strengthen and modernise how health and care services are delivered across Scotland. This framework aims to make care more sustainable, more joined up and more responsive to the needs of people, communities and the workforce.
We are working closely with Scottish Government and partners across health and social care on this transition and will keep colleagues updated about developments and what these mean for stakeholders.
While organisational structures are evolving, day to-day delivery of front-line services, ongoing programmes and workstreams in both NES and NSS will continue as planned through this period of change.
