Rural Advanced Practice MSc Programme 2024 now open for funding applications

Calling all Scottish Rural Nurses and AHP Practitioners!

We are offering funding to 10 eligible Primary and NHS Community Care practitioners working in remote, rural, or island settings to undertake the University of the Highlands & Islands (UHI) Rural Advanced Practitioner MSc programme.

The closing date to apply for NES funding is Friday 31 May 2024. Interested applicants should complete the questionnaire.

Eligibility criteria and conditions for NES funding

You should be working in a rural community team or rural primary care practice, providing healthcare services within NHS Scotland.

You should already have already completed Clinical Assessment and Non-Medical Prescribing Modules at SCQF level 11. This will enable you to enter into year two of the programme. Practitioners may exit the programme after year two with a Diploma in Rural Advanced Practice (RAP) or opt to continue into year three and complete the full MSc RAP Programme.

Receipt of NES funding is conditional on a successful application to the UHI Rural Advanced Practice MSc Programme. We recommend early completion of the UHI application process to confirm your suitability to undertake the programme. Please note the closing date for applications to the UHI programme is Friday 21 June 2024.

UHI admissions criteria

To apply for the MSc in Rural Advanced Practice, you will require to meet the University of the Highland & Islands’ admissions criteria. Please contact the programme lead Dr Clare Carolan at clare.carolan@uhi.ac.uk for further information.

If you have not completed the Clinical Assessment and Non-Medical Prescribing modules at SCQF level 11, please contact roland.preston@uhi.ac.uk
