Putting you in the FRAME - help us shape future education and career development frameworks

Staff working in Nursing, Midwifery, Allied Health Professions (NMAHP) and social care across Scotland are invited to share their views on education and career development frameworks by completing a short survey.

The survey is part of the Framework Review, Alignment, Monitoring and Evaluation (FRAME) project, which aims to better understand how education and career development frameworks are commissioned, developed, implemented, and used in practice. The goal is to ensure that the frameworks produced by NHS Education for Scotland deliver the greatest value to all who use them.

Frameworks are structured documents that outline the expected knowledge, skills and behaviours for different roles or career stages. They are widely used across health and social care to support staff development and to help ensure the workforce is equipped with the skills needed for safe and effective practice.

Fiona Stuart, specialist lead, NMAHP said:

We want to hear from as many health and care staff as possible; whether you use frameworks regularly, are new to them, or have been involved in their development or commissioning. Your insights will help ensure frameworks remain relevant, effective, and aligned with workforce needs.

Take part in the survey now.  It only takes around 10 minutes to complete and is open until Friday 16 January 2026.
