Armed Forces Talent Programme: hiring manager awareness sessions in December

The Armed Forces Talent Programme (AFTP) team is holding three hiring manager awareness sessions in December. The sessions are designed for hiring managers, line managers, and NHS Scotland staff involved in recruitment processes, looking to gain insight into the experiences of armed forces community members applying to NHS roles.

About the sessions

Taking place on 2, 4 and 5 December, the sessions will last one hour and will feature guest speakers from AFTP, Forces Employment Charity (FEC), and Scottish Credits and Qualifications Framework (SCQF).

Session dates and times:

  • 2 December from 14.00 to 15.00
  • 4 December from 11.30 to 12.30
  • 5 December from 09.30 to 10.30

Aims of the sessions

The sessions are designed to support participants to:

  • learn about the Armed Forces Talent Programme (AFTP), its role and purpose
  • understand the armed forces community, what it can bring to your team, and how
  • understand how to support the armed forces community throughout recruitment cycles
  • provide a knowledge base of how to engage with and assess members of the community who apply
