2021 - Our year in review
2021 was a critical year for everyone. For us, the challenge was balancing supporting front-line services every day while keeping education and training going for the future.
We want to give you a flavour of what we have achieved. So we've gathered some highlights here in our Year in Review pages.
We have illustrated 16 key areas that reflect the breadth of our work as well as some lesser-known activities. We also feature case studies which illustrate collaboration with partners and the impact of our work beyond the NHS.
Our role
NES supports the health of the people of Scotland. We are a national board with statutory responsibilities to effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system.
Our goal
is to improve the quality of care experienced by citizens across Scotland by ensuring that we have the right staff, with the right skills, in the right place, at the right time.
Increasingly, we impact beyond the NHS as we provide education that enables excellence in health and social care for the people of Scotland
What we've achieved
Over the last year we have increasingly worked across health and social care to recruit, provide and manage learning opportunities for students and existing staff. We have created and commission educational materials, resources and learning opportunities; and improved the physical and digital infrastructure for learners across Scotland.
What’s next
We want to continue offering support across health and social care. We want to build on the partnerships and successes of 2021 and explore where we can be of most benefit to support the health and wellbeing of the people of Scotland.
We’d love to help you in your work. Why not get in touch with us to see how we might work together in the future?
