Scottish Improvement Leader Graduation 2022

Our Quality Improvement (QI) team held its 2022 Scottish Improvement Leader (ScIL) annual graduation in November. The event celebrated the achievements of the four graduating cohorts, 28, 29, 30 and 32. And welcomed 105 new improvement leaders to the ScIL alumni (>600 members).

The theme of this year’s graduation was sustainability with guest speakers challenging delegates to consider environmental and sustainability aspects of all improvement efforts, and the opportunity that QI has in the context of improving the sustainability of Scottish public services.

During the event, a number of ScIL’s shared their improvement projects and key learning over the course of the programme. The graduating ScIL’s projects cover a broad range of services across Scotland including schools, health care and the community, with improvement aims related to:

  • service user engagement and learning
  • patient safety
  • wellbeing
  • timely access to services person-centred care

All the posters of the graduating ScIL's are available on the QI Zone.

A ScIL graduate said:

“The programme for me was excellent. I have learned so much.... I feel it is invaluable and have truly started thinking like a ScIL, something which I continue to take forward.”

Congratulations once again to our graduating ScIL’s in their achievement in completing the programme and all of the improvement projects carried out across various organisations and settings throughout Scotland.
