Review of Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) Induction Standards and Codes education resources
Our HCSW Team has been working with stakeholders from a variety of health boards to review and update the HCSW workbook and the reviewer’s guidance.
The Scottish Government mandatory induction standards and codes for new healthcare support workers in NHSScotland have been in place for over ten years. Whilst the standards themselves remain unchanged; a review of the educational resources that support the induction standards was initiated earlier this year.
Stakeholder feedback has been invaluable to ensure the resources meet the needs of the HCSW workforce across nursing, midwifery, allied health professions, business and administration and estates and facilities. Our thanks to everyone who has contributed to the review and helped shape the resources.
The roll out and transition from the old to the revised education resources will be for each health board to determine.
