Raising awareness of antimicrobial stewardship for nurses and midwives – updated resource

Our Public Health team have published a refreshed and updated version of the ‘Raising awareness of antimicrobial stewardship for nurses and midwives’ resource and supporting materials.

Updates include:

  • reference to the Scottish “One Health” approach to tackling antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
  • an introductory animation
  • pre and post reflective learning activities to support professional development and go towards evidence for revalidation with the NMC

Created in collaboration with the Scottish Antimicrobial Prescribing Group and the Scottish Antimicrobial Nurses Group, the purpose of the resource is to support awareness and understanding of antimicrobial stewardship and the role that nurses and midwives have within this.

The resource is suitable for all registered nurses and midwives across NHS Scotland and Health and Social Care Partnerships, including the private sector.

The resources can be freely accessed without a Turas Learn account.
