New interactive e-Module for a trauma skilled practitioner

The National Trauma Training Programme (NTTP) has released a new interactive e-module for anyone working with children and young people who may have been affected by traumatic events.

Developing your trauma skilled practice 2 offers relevant learning for practitioners working in the following settings:

  • social work
  • education
  • third sector organisations
  • justice systems
  • health
  • Children’s Hearing systems

The resource is also suitable for caregivers.

This new learning resource forms part of the newly reorganised NTTP Developing your trauma skilled practice e-module.

To make learning more accessible the original e-module now comes in two parts. The addition of the latest trauma in children and young people resource brings the total to three.

In summary the e-module now consists of:

  • developing your trauma skilled practice 1 – understanding the impact of trauma and responding in a trauma-informed way
  • developing your trauma skilled practice 2 - working with children and young people who may have been affected by traumatic events
  • developing your trauma skilled practice 3 - understanding the impact of trauma on mental health and evidence-based pathways to recovery

We recommend the foundation module, developing your trauma skilled practice 1, is completed first.
