NES CEO Karen Reid has paid tribute to departing Medical Director Professor Stewart Irvine and outlined changes at Executive level within the organisation.

Ms Reid said:

“I would like to thank Stewart, who has provided us with valuable leadership and support over a number of years. He has made a significant contribution to NES and the Medical profession and has touched the lives of many people. I wish him a long and happy retirement.
“I am also delighted that Dr Emma Watson is taking up the reins as our new Executive Director of Medical. I’m sure we will find her experience instrumental as we support the integration of health and social care services.
“Our Director of Medicine role will be central to that agenda, helping us effect sustainable change through workforce development, education and training across the health and social care system.”
“More broadly, we are looking to how we can improve Executive-level support in this area.
So I am pleased to announce the following:
Karen Wilson will become our Deputy Chief Executive (Clinical) and Director of Nursing.
Tracey Ashworth-Davies will become Deputy Chief Executive (Corporate) and Director of Workforce.”
