Caring for a Person Living with FTD: a supportive series of resources for carers

Our Psychology of Dementia team are pleased to launch these informed level resources to support people caring for a person living with behavioural variant Frontotemporal Dementia (bvFTD). They aim to

  • enhance understanding of FTD and how it can affect people,
  • improve support for people living with FTD, their families and carers,
  • maximise independence and quality of life.

The series wants to promote a positive message about living well with FTD and encourage proactive approaches to caregiving and support. This is of particular importance due to the current crisis pandemic. The series consists of 6 individual booklets as well as 4 quick reference guides on key topics.

The resource is for staff involved in supporting people living with FTD and their families and caregivers, working across a range of different settings. It has been written in a way so that it can be given to family caregivers to use in their own time.

Hard copies can be requested by contacting Psychology@nes.scot.nhs.uk
