Highly Specialist Paediatric Respiratory Physiologist

Jody Forster is a Highly Specialist Paediatric Respiratory Physiologist at the Royal Hospital for Children & Young People in Edinburgh. Their role is lead for the Multiple Breath Washout (MBW) service.

In 2022, Jody established the clinical MBW service for NHS Lothian, following training alongside research colleagues. MBW is now routinely offered from two years of age.

Jody is a joint-lead investigator on the project “How fit are children with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) compared to 10 years ago? - A comparison of cardiopulmonary exercise testing data in paediatric CF cohorts tested 10 years apart.”  This research forms the basis of Jody's Clinical Academic Research Gateway Award (First Steps).
