On 1st July 2017 HIV PrEP became available in sexual health clinics throughout the NHS in Scotland. Scotland is one of the first countries worldwide to have successfully established a HIV PrEP service which is national, free at the point of delivery and, to date, generally accessible to most deemed at highest risk of acquiring HIV.

NHS Education Scotland in partnership with Health Protection Scotland and members of the Scottish Health Protection Network (SHPN) developed educational materials to support this programme.
