Maternity Care

Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI)

A multi-agency national working group has worked together to develop up to date evidence based content for the SUDI e-learning resource. The resource provides information on risk factors associated with SUDI, guidance on how to reduce those risks and care for families affected by a SUDI.   We have filmed three new short films with bereaved parents and health professionals. The films aim to enable staff to understand how to provide the highest quality care in prevention and response to a SUDI.  The factual content and the films are currently being transformed into a lively interactive e-learning resource for a range of professionals including midwives, health visitors, paramedics, nursery nurses, social workers, family support workers, police, accident and emergency staff.

The resource is hosted on the Maternal Health Portal and can be accessed on the Learning page here.
