Management of Legionella Incidents in the Community

Management of Legionella Incidents in the Community is a resource to support the implementation of the Health Protection Network ‘Guidelines on Management of Legionella incidents, Outbreaks and Clusters in the Community’

This online resource has been developed by NHS Education for Scotland in partnership with the Health Protection Network to support the implementation of the above guidelines. It details the processes that should be followed to ensure public safety, effective communication with relevant stakeholders and compliance with legislation and guidance on managing public incidents.

The resource uses a scenario approach and aims to demonstrate to students how they could apply the guidelines when investigating a typical Legionella incident.

The resource can be used for personal study or in facilitated study sessions. It is anticipated that both health boards and local authorities will find the resource useful.

Information on how to access the resource can be found on the Health Protection web page.
