How is the questionnaire being developed?

  • Following a consultation process in 2015 (see Consultation Report for further information) involving trainees, supervisors, heads of service, and programme team staff associated with each of the four NES commissioned postgraduate applied psychology programmes, broad support for the development of the question was gained
  • An initial list of question items was generated with reference to the literature and a stakeholder reference group. In a pre-pilot phase, this initial list was circulated to trainees and stakeholders to check the suggested items for clarity and relevance
  • The resulting list of items was piloted with trainees to generate data for a factor analysis with the aim of developing a psychometrically sound questionnaire
  • For further information please see Stages of Process

Current Status of Survey Development

We are currently analysing the results of the pilot survey that trainees completed in summer/autumn 2016. The information provided does not include any identifiable information about them or their supervisors and is only being used for a factor analysis to develop the quality indicators and determine the wuestions to be used in the final survey.
