Funding for District Nursing

An education needs analysis (ENA) completed by NHS Boards in July 2019 to determine the education required to support their district nursing teams.

NHS Boards are requesting funding to support the following education:

  • PG Diploma District Nursing 
  • V300 Prescribing module and Advanced Clinical Assessment module to prepare current Band 6 DNs for the refocused DN role
  • A new education programme to prepare nurses to work in adult community nursing teams in Scotland (see programme information)

Regional roadshows will be provided in autumn 2019.

 

District Nurse CPD learning resource 

NHS Education for Scotland has developed a CPD learning resource to support existing career level 6 District Nurses to prepare for the refocussed role. 

Sign-in / Register on TURAS at https://learn.nes.nhs.scot/4058/district-nurse-cpd to access the resource. Users who already have TURAS nursing and midwifery ePortfolio should use the same username and password. Log in first then search for the DN CPD resource. 

Select the green Helpdesk tab on Turas if you have any problems accessing the resource.
