Centre for Health Science (CfHS)


These state of the art facilities provide a centre of excellence for postgraduate dental education, encompassing every member of the dental team, including clinical skills training for all dental professionals, supporting pre and post registration training for Dental Nurses.

Within the Centre for Health Sciences, flexible learning facilities have been designed to support both the teaching needs of established and expanding Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Vocational Training schemes.  With capacity to host events for up to 45 delegates within the Dr James Rennie Lecture Theatre and a suite of seminar and meeting rooms that are fully equipped with the latest in-built audio visual equipment.  A computer suite with ten workstations has been installed allowing IT training to take place, and supporting the research and training requirements of all the NHS staff.

The clinical skills area (phantom heads) provides a stunning educational facility for both postgraduate and undergraduate training.  There are 12 student workstations and one central Tutor's station. All have audio visual links to the Tutor's station and can also be linked to by VC to other parts of Scotland.  The facility enables the demonstration of techniques and procedures to much larger groups
