Allied Health Professions Federation Scotland

Provides collective leadership and membership for its member professional bodies. Its aim is to engage with and influence health, social care and other relevant policy bodies that impact across the member professions in Scotland

AHPFS seeks high quality care for patients and clients in health and social care environments in Scotland, where people can fully benefit from the skills, knowledge and experience of the AHP workforce

Typical business discussed at Group

  • Communication with a wide range of stakeholders promoting the essential contribution of theprofessions and professional bodies to health and social care in Scotland
  • Campaigning and lobbying on specific areas of concern which affect the professions themselvesor the service users/carers they serve
  • Contributing to consultations from relevant organisations
  • Representing AHPFS on pertinent key groups
  • Partnership working with other organisations to broaden and strengthen the sphere of influenceof the AHP professions across Scotland and the UK

Who is represented on the Group?

Each eligible member professional body is entitled to two seats on the AHPFS board. One of the two board seats available to each member professional body can be filled by a (paid) officer if the professional body so wishes.

Via AHPF website ( website has just been revamped and will include minutes ofAHPFS meeting etc.Professional bodies websites will have reference to AHPFS.Professional bodies representatives details will be posted on AHPF website.
