There are challenges around the nursing role in relation to children and young people who are looked after, not least in bringing consistency to job titles and role descriptions. This Capability Framework for Nurses who Care for Children and Young People who are Looked After Away from Home gives us a strong impetus to address these challenges and develop a clearer picture of what quality, evidence-based nursing can deliver for these children.
