Tissue Viability Overview
An integrated programme has been set up by the Scottish Government to provide a coherent and co-ordinated national approach to tissue viability throughout Scotland. Tissue viability has high visibility within the Scottish Government policy for health and social care.
For instance, it has been identified as a key area for education and interventions by the Scottish Healthcare Associated Infection (HAI) Task Force and is a central underpinning element of at least five of the 12 core aims of the Scottish Patient Safety Programme
An educational workbook on the Prevention and Management of Pressure Ulcers and an Educational Development Tool have been developed by NHS Education for Scotland in partnership with Quality Improvement Scotland (QIS) and key stakeholders as part of this integrated approach.
A flyer (pdf) is available for you to print and display locally.
