A quality assurance framework for the Delivery of Healthcare Associated Infection Education for NHSScotland

This framework supports organisations in achieving high-quality education provision in HAI for their staff.   The framework outlines standards to help guide those who have responsibility for planning, delivering and evaluating HAI educational activities.  The standards set an agreed level of performance which need to be achieved by three groups;  the organisation, practice educators (anyone who makes an educational contribution to a practice-based activity) and staff.

In addition to the HAI education standards the document also reflects some of the key issues influencing HAI education.  These include:

• Developing a HAI education and training strategy
• How to evidence the standards
• Quality assurance and accreditation for HAI education
