Educational Research

Educational research in NES is a core activity. The development of the current NES R&D Strategy 2010-2014 is based on the premise of building a multidisciplinary approach to research activity in addition to unidisciplinary research workstreams.

We are working to deliver research activity according to two educational research programmes:

  • Workforce selection and development in NHSScotland
  • Learning environments in health care settings

The underlying aim of NES research is to inform health service education with evidence for development of practice towards the ultimate goal of enhancing patient care in NHSScotland.  Our research will be strengthened by working collaboratively with colleagues from higher education, health boards, service users where necessary and other external partners.
