Effective Practitioner

Supporting NMAHP practitioners at Level 5 or 6 of the Career Framework for Health

The Effective Practitioner Initiative is a commitment in Scotland to support the large group of Nurses, Midwives and Allied Health Professionals (NMAHP) practitioners at Level 5 and 6 of the Career Framework for Health. It supports the  Healthcare Quality Strategy for NHS Scotland.

The initiative has strategic support through the NMAHP Directors, NHS Board leads for Effective Practitioner; and Education leads within the NHS Boards.

A network of nationally funded of practice educators, practice education leads and practice education facilitators support practitioners and managers to raise awareness of this new initiative and to promote the use of learning resources in practice.

There is a web based resource which practitioners can access throughout their careers, this provides information and learning resources. The web based resource also has information for manager and educators to support their staff.
