Public Health Practitioner Regulation

The UKPHR (UK Public Health Register) was commissioned in 2006 by the four UK countries through the English Department of Health, the Welsh Assembly Government, the Scottish Government and the Department of Health and Social Services and Public Safety, to take forward the development of public health practitioner registration.  An extensive National Consultation took place from 2008-2009 which resulted in the development of Public Health Practitioner standards. Assessment against these standards is the basis for a number of local assessment schemes currently being supported by the UKPHR.

The practitioner route to registration is now open, further information can be found on the Public Health Register website.
