Scottish Bowel Screening Programme Introduction of the faecal immunochemical test (FIT) An update for registered healthcare practitioners

This resource is designed to provide information to registered healthcare practitioners about the introduction of the faecal immunochemical test (FIT) into the Scottish Bowel screening programme in November 2017 order that:

  • Practitioners are knowledgeable and confident in discussing bowel screening and this new test with patients
  • Practitioners can promote the benefit of the new test in order to improve bowel screening uptake

The resource is provided in a number of short sections covering different aspects of the bowel screening programme including the benefits of the new faecal immunochemical test (FIT). This resource does not cover clinical aspects of bowel cancer.
