Resources to support the recognition and diagnosis of HIV infection in primary care settings.

Resources

This resource aims to support an increase of recognition and diagnosis of HIV within a Primary Care setting. Case studies within this resource are supported by facilitator notes to encourage discussion points throughout the learning.

The resource includes information on the current epidemiology of HIV in Scotland and supports practitioners through a better understanding of common HIV presentations and the use of "clinical indicator conditions” which indicate the need for HIV testing in symptomatic patients

This PowerPoint slideset and accompanying notes can be used as self-directed learning or used by an experienced facilitator as supporting material for training delivery.
