Work in Partnership with Health Scotland

The NES Health Improvement team support NHS Health Scotland across a number of subject areas, including:

Health-Promoting Health Services The Health Improvement team are supporting NHS Health Scotland with strengthening the HPHS (Health Promoting Health Service) (external link) initiative that has been running for number of years.

A Chief Executive Letter (CEL) with regard to the HPHS was sent out in 2008 and an event to discuss progress took place in November 2009. Since then NES has been meeting with NHS Health Scotland and Scottish Government to look at how this work may be progressed. Specific areas currently under development include: Health Improvement dimension highlighted in KSF for all practitioners and work to embed HPHS within appropriate undergraduate professional training.
