Surgical Site Infection Surveillance Methodologies

SSIs account for 15.9% of all Healthcare Associated Infections and have been estimated to at least double the length of hospital stay.

Accurate surveillance is required to provide data for action to be taken locally to reduce these infections.  Robust data is also required internationally for comparability.
