MRSA is probably one of the best known resistant organisms but other highly resistant types of bacteria are emerging and presenting new challenges in managing infection.

Target Audience
The target audience for this course includes: antimircrobial management teams, consultant level physicians and surgeons, specialist training doctors, infection control teams, specialist nurses, community nurse practitioners, charge nurses and ward based staff, non medical prescribers, pharmacists and dentists.
Learning Outcomes
Following completion of this course, it is expected that you will:
- be aware of Multi-Resistant Gram-Negative Bacilli and mechanisms of resistance
- know which kind of infections may be caused by these bacteria
- be aware of current advice on the clinical management of infection with Multi-Resistant Gram-Negative Bacilli
- understand the importance of infection control in reducing transmission of these bacteria
- have an understanding of the role of antibiotic stewardship in limiting bacterial resistance.
