HAI Quality Improvement

The Scottish Government HAI Task Force Delivery Plan gives responsibility to NHS Education for Scotland to deliver improvement methodology training to all disciplines that provide infection prevention and control service.

There are a number of  resources available to assist quality improvement work including the Quality Improvement Hub, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership.

Other linked resources include the Scottish Patient Safety Programme, the Knowledge into action website and the NES website - HAI and Patient Safety.

With a focus on quality improvements in healthcare associated infections, NES have developed a online module which can be used by any healthcare disciplines working in hospitals, care homes, health centres or the patient’s own home. QI Zone provides information and resources to support people with experience at all levels of quality improvement to develop their knowledge.


HAI Quality Improvements Facilitators (HAI QIFs)

HAI QIFs are now in post across a number of health boards in NHSScotland. Their role is to help promote integration and alignment of HAI and improvement agenda. Find out more about the HAI QIF role and educational resources to support their work at the HAI QIF page.
