Getting it Right Across the Sectors - Towards education for a mobile Children and Young People's Workforce

Aim

To equip health and social care professionals with the knowledge and skills to meet the physical, social, psychological and developmental needs of children and young people (CYP)

What Has Been Achieved So Far

  • A cross sector multi-professional steering group with joint chairing between the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and NES
  • The design of an award based on common knowledge, skills and learning across health and social services - http://www.knowledge.scot.nhs.uk/child-services/guidelines-and-policy/policy-documents/early-years-framework.aspx
  • Pilot of an award at Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework Levels 7 and 8 in Scottish Higher Education Institutions
  • An external evaluation of the project is in place
