Overview:: This guidance document that describes SEA, was developed jointly by NHS Education for Scotland and The National Patient Safety Agency, with support from the Royal College of General Practitioners and Healthcare Improvement Scotland. The guidance was then adapted by NES Pharmacy for the community pharmacy team. The guidance will enable you and your team to conduct an effective Significant Event Analysis (SEA) with the aim of improving and developing your practice to ensure that you provide patients with high quality, safe and effective services.Examples are provided. Guidance document March 2012. Includes examples of SEAs.
