Regional Practice Education Co-ordinators
The appointment of Regional Practice Education Co -ordinators (PECs) for the West, East and Northern regions will enable more support to be given to staff within territorial boards.Where required support will also be provided for pharmacy staff within specialist health boards.

The Practice Education Co-ordinator posts mirror similar Regional appointments that NES have made to co-ordinate practice education to support; Nursing, Allied Health Professionals and Healthcare Scientists.
PECs provide support to:
- the Lead Pharmacists Educational Development
- the Chief Pharmacy Technician
for several strands of work with the initial focus being on:
- the Pre Registration Pharmacist Scheme (PRPS)
- Pharmacist Prescribers
- the Pharmacy Vocational Training Scheme
- Pharmacy Support Staff training.
