A range of work-based learning activities are now available under the themes of Leadership; Facilitation of Learning; and Evidence, Research and Development. The work-based learning activities can be downloaded from the Effective Practitioner website for use locally by individuals and teams.

News: NICE launch free British National Formulary Smartphone Apps February 2013
The NICE BNF and NICE BNFC (British National Formulary for Children) apps provide easy access to the latest up-to-date prescribing information from the BNF and BNFC – the most widely-used medicines information resource in the NHS. The NICE BNF and NICE BNFC apps are free to health and social care professionals via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Users will need to enter their NHS Education for Scotland Athens user name and password to activate the app and download the content.

NHS Education for Scotland in partnership with NHS Scotland Health Boards are working together to promote and implement the Aseptic Technique e-learning programme.

The revision to the Midwives rules and standards was made following extensive consultation with nearly 1,000 organisations and individuals including midwives, supervisors of midwives and mothers to ensure that the rules reflect contemporary midwifery practice and are relevant to stakeholders’ needs.
