Return to Practice - Model 1

Model 1 - Linked to Employment

Model 1 - RtP Directly linked to employment

• After selection, you will be appointed by the Placement Provider to a Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker post on a fixed term contract and will be paid for the clinical placement hours you undertake as part of the programme.

• During this time you may also be offered a Band 2 HCSW bank contract to provide support for any lost earnings whilst completing the course.

• Where possible, you will have your placement in an area that links to your previous experience and/or subsequent intention to practice. Placement providers may also wish to align this with an area that is likely to have a vacancy.

• Ideally, upon successful completion, you will be in a position to be appointed to the post having established yourself with that team.

• All those who successfully complete and take up employment will undertake Flying Start NHS in their first, preceptorship year.

• If you are unsuccessful in completing the course, you will not be required to pay back your fees and there may be options to explore other 'Support Worker' opportunities within the placement provider organisation.

Those returnees accessing this model will be required to take up the post offered by the placement provider upon successful completion and will be required to remain in that post for a minimum period of one year. If you do not meet this requirement you will be required to pay back the £1500 programme fee.
