Providing direct communication between Specialty training and the Medical Directorate
Each of the seven Scottish Specialty Training Boards and the Foundation Programme Board meets on a regular basis throughout the year. This provides an opportunity to discuss issues pertinent to the specialty, confirm trainee numbers, identify training requirements and plan specialty training programmes.
The Specialty Training Board Chairs are required to provide ongoing monthly reports to the Medical Directorate Executive Team(MDET) and attend every second monthly MDET meeting.
