Careers and Recruitment
Information on programmes, the deaneries and the areas they are based in, and further advice for careers after postgraduate medical training
The four Scottish deaneries are based in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Aberdeen/Inverness. They cover the whole of Scotland from urban to rural settings and distant islands.
They also provide a comprehensive array of programmes across the country so please take time to visit the pages on Foundation, GP and specialty training to get more information on the programmes available for postgraduate training.
Scotland has a long and distinguished history in providing strong academic medical training and you can find more information about Scottish academic training (SCREDS) scheme in this section.
Also available in this section is further information on careers and what options are available after your training is completed.
Visit the interactive career journey map (external link courtesy of the Wales Deanery) and careers map guidance page to help understand the options for medical careers and training.
