Biomedical Scientists

Four Scottish universities offer 'integrated' full-time undergraduate degree programmes. The undergraduate programmes are accredited by Institute of Biomedical Science as meeting the requirements of the Health Professions Council for registration as a Biomedical Scientist.

NES, in partnership with HEI biomedical science staff and NHS laboratory trainers, delivers a Biomedical Science Train the Trainer (BMS TtT) course to Biomedical Scientists throughout NHS Scotland.  The BMS TtT course prepares the BMS trainers and their laboratories for the BMS student placement of the integrated Biomedical Science degrees. Support for this programme is projected to continue until 2013. NES is also supporting 3 fixed-term Biomedical Science Placement Officers, in partnership with HEIs.

The universities offering integrated Biomedical Science degrees are:
