Clinical Scientists 2012

NES has oversight of the NHS Scotland supernumerary training schemes for pre-registration clinical scientists in Scotland.

Clinical Scientist pre-registration supernumerary training schemes and "Route 2" Clinical Scientist trainees

These schemes are postgraduate programmes for high quality science graduates. Clinical Scientist trainees can be placed in a range of participating training centres in Scotland, and will typically undergo rotational elements to develop competences necessary to meet the Health Professions Council requirements. Accreditation of these competences is via the Association of Clinical Scientists and for future recognition under the framework for UK-wide Modernising Scientific Careers.
