We have oversight of training programmes and initiatives to develop the healthcare science workforce, with an aim of ensuring a sustainable fit-for-purpose workforce supply for NHSScotland.
Our interests span the 3 HCS strands of life sciences, physical sciences and clinical physiology. We cover:
- Postgraduate Scientist trainees, including pre-registration Clinical Scientists
- Pre-registration and post-registration support for other groups
- NES-delivered generic learning: Early Career; Leadership; Trainers; Safety
- Support staff initiatives
NES Healthcare Science followed the Scottish Government Action Plan (2007) Safe Accurate and Effective. We work with the Scottish Forum for Healthcare Science. We are involved at a UK-level for Healthcare Science education, training and accreditation.
