NES is involved in education and training for dentists throughout their career
Undergraduate training
NES distributes funds to all the NHS Boards providing undergraduate training in dental hospitals and outreach centres. For further information on this please contact our Edinburgh office on 0131 313 8022 or e-mail.
Vocational and foundation training
NES co-ordinates vocational and foundation training and funds the salaries of the trainees. Recruitment is handled centrally through the NES Portal with the regional centres dealing with enquiries.
Specialty training
NES controls the number of training places available in Scotland,
co-ordinates this training and funds the salaries of the
trainees.
CPD
NES organises enough CPD to allow dentists to fulfil the requirements of the General Dental Council. All courses are listed on the NES Portal.
