Post Registration Training

Dental Nurses registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) may wish to progress within their career by gaining further qualifications.

NES provides a wide range of post registration training leading to Professional Development Awards (PDA), Higher National Units (HN Units) or even HND awarded by Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).

These programmes are designed to enable registered dental nurses to further develop their knowledge and skills within particular areas of interest, in line with the GDC Scope of Practice.

The Scope of Practice guidance document sets out the skills and abilities each registrant group should have and describes additional skills that a dental nurse can develop after registration to increase the scope of their practice. Click here for Scope of Practice.
