The Scottish Dental Clinical Effectiveness Programme (SDCEP) aims to provide user-friendly, evidence-based guidance to support dental teams' clinical and organisational decision-making and assist dental teams in providing the best possible dental care for their patients. (www.sdcep.org.uk)
The Quality Improvement in Practice Training (QIiPT) team provide in practice training and education for all members of the dental team. The training and education is aligned with the national Healthcare Associated Infection training and is delivered in a variety of formats.
Translation Research in a Dental Setting (TriaDS) is a multidisciplinary international research collaboration working in the field of knowledge translation, evaluation and implementation. It works closely with the SDCEP guidance development team and offers a practical framework for evaluating the uptake of guidance recommendations and investigating the effectiveness of implementation strategies. The Scottish Dental Practice Based Research Network (SDPBRN) supports and conducts research in the dental practice setting to inform the development of guidance recommendations and other evidence-based support tools and service development. SDPBRN also facilitates impact assessment and quality assurance activities and provides mentoring and training for postgraduate healthcare professionals. (www.sdpbrn.org.uk)
The Scottish Dental Postgraduate Fellowship (SDPF) provides qualified practitioners with the opportunity to continue with high quality post-graduate dental education through distance learning. The programme supports practitioners to complete a formal teaching programme and clinical research project and works closely with Health Boards, Dental Schools and local clinicians to ensure a comprehensive learning experience.
