Funding for your Learning and Development

The AHP Careers Fellowship Scheme is now CLOSED

1. What is the AHP Careers Fellowship Scheme?

The AHP Careers Fellowship scheme funds learning and development opportunities for the AHP workforce across the public sector in Scotland

2. Who can apply to the AHP Careers Fellowship Scheme?

Applications are welcomed from AHPs employed in NHSScotland and Local Authorities in Scotland.  This encompasses AHPs, AHP Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) and AHP Assistant Practitioners.

Please click here for the professions that are included

Applications are also welcome from AHPs working in the third sector, further and higher education where they are submitted in partnership with NHS AHP colleagues and where there is anticipated benefit to NHS service users and staff.

3. What can I apply to the AHP Careers Fellowship Scheme for?

You can apply for funds to support a wide range of learning.  Examples  include learning that is work based (for yourself or others), short courses, team learning, shadowing experiences and post grad modules.

For this opening the Careers Fellowship scheme will focus on the Active and Independent Living Programme (AILP).  This means that your application should demonstrate how it contributes to AILP

What's your big idea?  We are keen to consider applications for Fellowship projects that encompass learning, service improvement and change in service delivery over a period of time.  If you've got an idea that fits this description, and is supported by your line manager and AHP Director, then get in touch for an informal discussion prior to applying (
