Web Based Educational Package

 Welcome to the NHS Education for Scotland, Pharmacy, Clinical Trials/Research web based educational package.

ambulancephysiopharmacistThis package has been developed by a multi disciplinary reference group, to primarily facilitate the education of pharmacy staff within secondary care.  This need was identified after the introduction of the EU Directive relating to research involving investigational medicinal products in 2001.

The package comprises of  underpinning knowledge  (general information) available through the initial web based resource and links, more specific underpinning knowledge depending on the level of education required (personal development section)and also a variety of competency frameworks (Level 1 to 5) where having gained the underpinning knowledge it can be applied and assessed either informally or formally in the workplace.

Assessment is by the completion of:

The information displayed may be used by other healthcare practitioners however, they need to ensure that they consult the relevant members of their local research team and have received the appropriate training as recognised by their professional body, prior to becoming involved in a clinical trial.
