Mr Kenneth Walker

Associate Postgraduate Dean

Kenneth Walker is Associate Postgraduate Dean for surgical specialties in the North of Scotland Deanery and a Consultant Colorectal Surgeon in Inverness. Having graduated MBChB from Aberdeen in 1989, his training in General Surgery and Coloproctology was in Glasgow and Sydney, acquiring FRCS and a research MD.

He spent a year and a half in Nepal as a GI surgeon and trainer before taking post in Inverness in 2004 as an NHS consultant. His clinical practice includes laparoscopic surgery, colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and pelvic floor surgery. His educational practice was first as an Educational Supervisor and then since 2010 as Associate Postgraduate Dean for surgical specialties. His particular training and interests are in Simulation in Surgical Training, rural and international training, and non-technical skills. He co-directs Highland Surgical Boot Camps.
