Dr Judith Richardson

Assistant GP Director (Postgraduate General Practice Education)

I graduated from Edinburgh University in 1990 and after General Practice Vocational Training in Edinburgh I was appointed a partner at the University Health Service in 1995. I have had an interest in medical education from my days as an undergraduate.

Over the past 14 years I have progressed from a GP trainer in practice, which I still do, to a course organiser forthe GP Registrar Day Release, to associate advisor with responsibility for GP foundation placements to my current role as Assistant Director (GP). In my current role my main responsibility is for overseeing the GP Speciality Training organisation and educational delivery in SE Scotland.

This includes involvement in national GP recruitment, GP programme development and chairing ARCP panels.
